An award winning artistic director has been announced as the main designer for the Blackburn Cathedral Flower Festival in 2016.
Bill Dixon, began his working life as an interior designer and discovered the joy of flower arranging in the early 1990’s, which he felt was a natural extension of his creative flair.
He has been a part of many successful festivals and shows including being part of the North West Area NAFAS team at Chelsea in 2011 and led the the RHS Tatton Flower Show team in 2014, both of which achieved gold medals. His designs have graced many major Flower Festivals across the UK, including those at Kensington Palace and Canterbury, Southwark and Winchester Cathedrals.
As well as his national and international work, Bill also takes the time to contribute to local events, recently designing for his village church festival at Chapeltown and competing at Southport Flower Show where he won another first prize!
Talking about the Blackburn Cathedral Flower Festival, Bill said, “I am delighted to be the Artistic Director for this ambitious Flower Festival in Blackburn. 2016 will be a landmark year for the town and we hope thousands of people will travel from across the country to visit the spectacular displays that will grace the stunning architecture of Blackburn Cathedral”

The Blackburn Cathedral Flower Festival takes place at Blackburn Cathedral from 23rd June to 26th June 2016. The event has attracted a range of sponsors including Blackburn BID, High Level Maintenance Limited, Cope Engineering Limited and media partners BBC Radio Lancashire and Square Cactus.
