Following the huge success of our inaugural event in 2016, The Friends of Blackburn Cathedral will present their next flower festival with internationally acclaimed designers Craig Bullock and Bill Dixon.
The festival is being supported by Flowers North West: a community of flower clubs who make up the North West region of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS).
This award winning festival attracts 10,000 visitors from across the region and beyond and received thousands of pounds worth of press coverage in The Times, BBC Northwest Tonight, BBC Radio Lancashire, Lancashire Life, and more.
Once again we will work with 200 volunteers from across the UK to organise, design and build the stunning displays, manage the week long programme of events and welcome and steward visitors, many arriving on coach trips to witness the spectacular installations created with thousands of flowers.
The theme for the amazing floral installations is “Heaven and Earth”. As well as entertainment and food and drink throughout the week there will be a programme of fringe events to include an exclusive preview, sponsors’ dinner and an evening jazz concert. In order to accommodate additional audiences, we have also extended our programme to include expert demonstrations in additional off-site venues across the town centre.
We look forward to working with our sponsors and friends to deliver this landmark event in the life of Lancashire’s Cathedral and the whole of the region, supporting local businesses, industry and the community.
