Countryside Comes to Town

Saturday, 25th June, 2016 - 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Come and celebrate the completion of Blackburn’s multimillion pound Cathedral Quarter where the festival main stage and big screen will host international artists, big bands and well-known personalities including Nadiya, winner of the Great British Bake Off and Mr Bloom from CBeebies & his brand new band.

You can ride a bucking bronco sheep, milk Matilda the cow, and get up close to the stars of the Insect Circus Museum. Follow the natural history trail to Blackburn Museum and discover the Creepy Crawly Road Show and the world famous collection of Bowdler’s beetles.

Don’t miss the Vegetable Nanny workshops in The Mall, the pop-up petting farm and the Blackburn Rovers stage on King William Street. You’ll meet Angelina Ballerina and street artists like the Bombay Baja Band and the Clitheroe Ukulele Band, with a showcase of local talent presented by MMT & Reidys.

Round things off at the BID summer bash in Cathedral Square where you can dance to the beat of the Drum Machine who are joined by Mr Wilson’s Second Liners and the Blackburn with Darwen Big Band.

This is a FREE family event taking place across Blackburn Town Centre and is organised by the Blackburn Business Improvement District. It’s a great reason to visit the Flower Festival on Saturday 25th June!
